The Mendon Fire District will be conducting the business of the Fire District at regularly scheduled meetings and TBD workshops. All meetings will be held at the Mendon Fire House located at 101 Mendon-Ionia Rd, Mendon New York. These meetings are open to the public and offer a public comment time. Meeting dates and times are listed below. Unless otherwise specified, they are held on Thursdays with a starting time of 7 PM.

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Mendon Fire District will hold the 2026 Organizational Meeting at 4:00 PM on Thursday, January 1, 2026.

The meeting will be held in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room at the Mendon Fire House, 101 Mendon-Ionia Rd.; Mendon, NY 14506.

Following the Organizational Meeting, the new Commission member and Mendon Fire Department Chief Officers for 2025 will be sworn in during a reception in the main Fire Department Meeting Room from 5 PM to 6 PM.

A special meeting of the Mendon Fire District for December 20, 2025 has been called by order of the Commissioners of the Mendon Fire District.

This meeting is to (a) review sealed bids for the Roof Replacement/Solar Panel RFP issued Nov 21, 2025 (b) discuss, determine and adopt a resolution to move funds from the operating account(s) to the capital reserve and (c) any other year-end financial questions.

Notice is hereby given that the Commissioners of the MENDON FIRE DISTRICT, at a regular meeting held on November 20, 2025, duly adopted, subject to a permissive referendum, a resolution, an abstract of which is as follows:

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DISTRICT TO (1) INSTALL A NEW METAL ROOF ON THE FIREHOUSE BUILDING; AND (2) PURCHASE AND INSTALL A 62.1 KW SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM, TOGETHER WITH ALL RELATED AND INCIDENTAL EXPENSES.

THE MAXIMUM ESTIMATED COST OF THE PROJECT IS $400,000, TO BE FINANCED FROM THE DISTRICT’S CAPITAL RESERVE FUND(S) AND/OR THROUGH BORROWING AGAINST SUCH RESERVE FUNDS, AS DETERMINED TO BE FISCALLY EFFICIENT AND PERMITTED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.

This resolution shall be subject to a permissive referendum as permitted by law.
